विघ्नेशं प्रणतोऽस्म्यहं शिवसुतं सिद्धीश्वरं दन्तिनं
गौरीनिर्मितभासमानवपुषं श्वेतार्कमूलस्थितम् ।
सर्वारम्भणपूजितं द्विपमुखं दूर्वासमिज्याप्रियं
मूलाधारनिवासिनं च फणिना बद्धोदरं बुद्धिदम् ॥
श्वेताम्भोरुहवासिनीप्रियमनाः वेधाश्च वेदात्मकः
श्रीकान्तस्स्थितिकारकः स्मरपिता क्षीराब्धिशय्याहितः ।
चन्द्रालङ्कृतमस्तको गिरिजया पृक्तात्मदेहश्शिव-
स्ते लोकत्रयवन्दितास्त्रिपुरुषाः कुर्युर्महन्मङ्गलम् ॥
संसारार्णवतारणोद्यमरताः प्रापञ्चिकानन्दगाः
ज्ञानाब्धिं विभुमाश्रयन्ति चरमे नित्यं सदानन्ददम् ।
आप्रत्यूषविहारिणो गगनगाः नैकाः मनोज्ञाः स्थली-
र्वीक्ष्यान्ते हि निशामुखे वसतरुं गच्छन्ति चन्द्रद्युतौ ॥

Meaning:
I bow to Vighnesha, the son of Shiva, the lord of Siddhi, the elephant-faced one,
whose radiant body was fashioned by Gauri and who dwells at the root of the white arka tree.
He is worshipped at the beginning of all undertakings,
the two-tusked lord who loves offerings of durva grass and samit twigs.
He resides in the muladhara, his belly bound with the serpent,
and he is the giver of true intelligence.
May the three great lords worshipped by the three worlds bring supreme auspiciousness:
Brahma, whose beloved is the one seated on the white lotus and who is the very form of the Vedas;
Vishnu, the beloved of Sri, the sustainer of creation, father of Manmatha, resting on the ocean of milk;
and Shiva, whose head is adorned with the moon and whose body is united with Girija.
May these three Purushas bless us with great welfare.
Those devoted to crossing the ocean of worldly existence,
yet experiencing the joys of daily life, finally take refuge
in the limitless ocean of knowledge, the ever-giving source of bliss.
Like birds that wander freely through the sky at dawn,
visiting many beautiful places through the day,
they return at nightfall to rest upon their familiar tree
bathed in the gentle light of the moon.
These verses move from worship to philosophy. First the mind is anchored in Ganapati, the remover of obstacles. Then the vision expands to the three cosmic powers, and finally to the journey of the soul, like birds returning home after wandering the wide sky.
