Meaning:
Verse 1
At dawn I remember the lotus-like face of Ganapati,
the three eyes shining, the cheeks fragrant with the sweet scent of divine intoxication.
His trunk is graceful, his single tusk is adorned like a jewel pot,
and by merely meditating on him he grants the desired fruits again and again.
Verse 2
In the morning I remember the many arms of Ganapati,
glowing with lotuses and other sacred emblems, decorated with radiant armlets.
Those arms hold the fierce staff that destroys proud obstacles,
and every day they are ready to grant boons greater than what the heart even asks.
Verse 3
At dawn I remember the vast and majestic body of Ganapati,
his beauty glowing like a mountain of vermilion.
He shines everywhere with pearls and clusters of gems,
and sits joyfully embraced by his beloved, the divine Siddhi Lakshmi.
Verse 4
In the morning I praise Ganapati, the king of the kings of the ganas,
surrounded by attendants like Moda, Pramoda and Sumukha.
He is radiant with the eight shaktis, worshipped by the guardians of the worlds,
ever devoted to removing the pain of devotees, the supreme giver of boons.
Verse 5
At dawn I remember the name and form of the leader of the ganas,
Lambodara, supremely beautiful, the single-tusked one.
He grants success, has the face of an elephant, gentle and compassionate,
the refuge of all, the cause of welfare, the auspicious first deity of the universe.
Verse 6 (Phala shruti)
Whoever recites these five verses at early morning
with devotion, holding firmly to the feet of Ganapati,
to that person the joyful lord, skilled in granting boons,
becomes the wish-fulfilling Chintamani and gives all desired wealth and fulfilment.
