Ganesha Totaka Stotram
This is a deeply devotional stotram addressed to Bhagavan Ganesha, praising Him as the supreme guide, remover of suffering, revealer of truth, and protector from worldly and cosmic afflictions.
Verse 1
प्रणवःप्रभशोभित शान्ततनो
शिवपार्वतिलालित बालतनो ।
वरमोदकहस्त मनोज्ञतनो
वहते हृदये गणराजतनो ॥
Meaning:
O Lord Ganesha, whose form shines with the radiance of Pranava, the sacred sound Om, and whose nature is filled with supreme peace.
You are the beloved divine child, lovingly nurtured by Shiva and Parvati.
You hold the blessed modaka in Your hand, symbolizing the sweetness of spiritual wisdom.
O King of the Ganas, Your enchanting divine form resides eternally in my heart.
Verse 2
अपरोक्षसुधारसहर्षनिधे
परमार्थविबोधकसत्त्वनिधे ।
श्रुतिवन्दितचित्परतत्त्वनिधे
शरणं शरणं गजवक्त्रगुरो ॥
Meaning:
O Lord, You are the treasure of direct spiritual bliss, experienced without any barrier.
You are the treasure of pure truth that awakens the highest spiritual knowledge.
You are the supreme reality praised by the Vedas themselves.
O Elephant-faced Guru, I surrender to You again and again.
Verse 3
अतिसुन्दर कुञ्जर बालगुरो
अवबोध निसर्गसुजूर्णिमयम् ।
परितुष्य पदाम्बुरुहं भवतां
दयया परिदर्शय मां सततम् ॥
Meaning:
O supremely beautiful elephant-faced divine child and Guru,
Your nature is filled with complete and natural spiritual awareness.
Being pleased, please reveal to me Your lotus feet,
And out of compassion, allow me to always behold them.
Verse 4
परितप्यति दुःसहलोकजनः
कृमिजातिजमण्डितघोरविषात् ।
कृपया परिरक्षतु विघ्नहर
शरणागत वत्सल भक्तपते ॥
Meaning:
The people of this world suffer greatly from unbearable pain,
As if poisoned by terrible inner impurities and worldly afflictions.
O Remover of obstacles, please protect us with Your compassion.
O loving Lord of devotees, who cares deeply for those who surrender, save us.
Verse 5
रविचन्द्रसुलोहितसौम्यगुरु-
कविमन्दतमः सह केतुखगैः ।
परिपूजित वारणवक्त्रभृते
परिपालय मां ग्रहदोषभरात् ॥
Meaning:
O Elephant-faced Lord, You are worshipped by all the celestial forces, including the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu.
You are the master even of the planetary powers.
Please protect me from the burdens and afflictions caused by planetary influences.
This stotram describes Ganesha as:
