Now begins the heart of the Sun — the hymn that holds within it the energy to pierce darkness and awaken inner radiance.

Rama stood in the battlefield, worn out from war, mind weighed down with worry. Before him towered Ravana, fierce and restless for battle — the storm was ready to strike.

The gods assembled above to witness this battle of ages. From amidst the celestial glow descended Sage Agastya — the divine rishi — who approached Rama and spoke.

'O Rama, O mighty-armed one, listen now to this secret, timeless hymn. With it, my child, you will triumph over all enemies on the battlefield.'

This is Aditya Hridayam—sacred, pure, destroyer of enemies, bringer of victory. Recite it daily. It is unfailing. It is the highest blessing. It never diminishes.

This is the essence of all that is auspicious. It washes away sins. It soothes grief and anxiety. It strengthens life. It is the finest remedy for the soul.

Worship the rising Sun, shining with rays, honoured by gods and demons alike. Offer your praise to Bhaskara, the lord of the universe.

He is the soul of all gods. He radiates light. With his brilliant rays, he watches over all beings—gods, demons, and mortals.

He is Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. He is Skanda, the creator, Indra, Kubera, Time, Yama, Chandra, and Varuna—the master of waters.

He is the Pitrs, Vasus, Sadhyas, Ashwini twins, the Maruts, Manu, Vayu, Agni, the breath of life, the maker of seasons, and the source of light.

He is Aditya, Savita, Surya—he soars across the sky like a divine bird. He is Pushan, the nourisher, and Gabhastiman, the one who holds rays. His radiance is like molten gold. He is Bhanu, blazing brilliance. His seed is golden. He is Divakara, the maker of day.

He rides green horses. A thousand rays shoot from him. His chariot is drawn by seven steeds—he is full of shining beams. He is the destroyer of darkness, the calm source of bliss, the celestial architect, the fierce Martanda, the radiant one who dispels gloom.

He is Hiranyagarbha, the golden cosmic womb. He is warmth amid winter’s chill. He is Bhaskara, the bringer of brilliance. He is Ravi, the seer. Born of Agni, the son of Aditi. He is Shankha, and he melts away cold and fear alike.

He is the lord of the sky. He shatters darkness. He is the knower of all Vedas—Rig, Yajur, and Sama. He brings rain from clouds, he is friend of waters, he traverses even the winding paths of the Vindhyas with effortless grace.

He blazes with heat. He is circular like the golden disc. He is Death and Life woven together. Tawny in hue, he scorches all that resists truth. He is the poet of the cosmos, the all-seeing eye, the source of immense energy. Reddish, fierce, he is the womb of all beings.

He is the master of stars, planets, and constellations. He creates and sustains the world with his mere gaze. Even among the radiant, his brilliance stands supreme. O twelvefold Sun, I bow to you again and again.

Salutations to the eastern mountain that lifts him up. Salutations to the western peaks that take him in. Salutations to the lord of light-clusters, to the ruler of day, the sovereign of the sky.

Salutations to the victorious one, to the harbinger of auspicious triumph. To the one whose horses are swift and shining. To you of a thousand rays, to Aditya, I bow again and again.

Salutations to the fierce, the brave, the one who pierces the sky like an arrow. To the awakener of the lotus, to Martanda, the blazing sun, I bow with reverence.

To the one who embodies Brahma, Ishana, and Achyuta—salutations! To Surya, brilliant as fire. To the devourer of all, whose form is both radiant and terrible—I offer my prostrations.

To the slayer of darkness, the melter of cold. To the destroyer of enemies, the limitless soul. To the god who strikes down the ungrateful. To the lord of all lights—salutations!

He glows like molten gold. He is fire. He is the cosmic craftsman. He crushes all darkness. He is beauty itself. He is the witness to all life.

He destroys all beings—then creates them again. He is the master of the cycle. He protects, he scorches, he blesses the world with rain — all through his blazing arms of light.

Even when the world sleeps, he stays awake. Even when all is still, he moves. He is the sacred fire. He is the fruit of every sacrifice.

He is the Vedas. He is the yajnas. He is the outcome of every rite. Whatever righteous action exists in this world, it is he—Ravi, the radiant king—who stands behind it.

O Raghava, when one is trapped in danger, lost in forests, trembling in fear — if he remembers this hymn with heart, he shall never fall, never fail.

Worship him, Rama, with full focus — this divine of all divinities, the lord of worlds. Chant this thrice with steady heart, and victory shall be yours on the battlefield.

Even now, O mighty-armed one, you shall destroy Ravana. Thus spoke Sage Agastya, and like the wind, he vanished into the ether from where he had come.

Hearing this, Rama’s light returned. The burden of sorrow fell away. Calm, joyful, his soul anchored in devotion, Rama held the hymn in his heart.

He looked up at the Sun, and chanted with shining focus. A wave of bliss surged through him. He purified himself with water thrice. His hands gripped the bow. His courage was unshakable.

He gazed upon Ravana — eyes steady, heart uplifted. With every fiber of his being, Rama marched toward war. He was now determined — this was the moment Ravana would fall.

And then—Ravi, the Sun, watching Rama rise like dawn itself, rejoiced in his heart. He knew the king of demons would soon be dust. Among the Devas, the Sun whispered with joy — 'Let the moment come quickly!'

Thus ends the Aditya Hridayam — the hymn that lit Rama’s heart like the sun at noon.
