Dwaraka and Somnath

 

Dwarka and Somnath are two of the most important pilgrimage sites in India. They are located in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat, and are both associated with Lord Krishna.

Dwarka is believed to be the mythical kingdom of Lord Krishna, where he ruled for 12 years. The Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka is one of the most important Hindu temples in the world. It is dedicated to Lord Krishna, who is worshiped here as Dwarkadhish, or King of Dwarka.

Somnath is the first of the twelve Jyotirlingas, or sacred abodes of Lord Shiva. The Somnath Temple in Somnath is also a very important Hindu temple. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva, who is worshiped here as Somnath, or Lord of the Moon.

Both Dwarka and Somnath are popular tourist destinations. They are home to many historical and religious sites, as well as beautiful beaches and natural scenery.
