श्रीस्वामिपुष्करिणिकाऽऽप्लव निर्मलाङ्गाः
श्रेयोऽर्थिनो हर विरिंच सनन्दनाद्याः।
द्वारे वसन्ति वरवेत्र हतोत्तमाङ्गाः
श्रीवेङ्कटाचलपते तव सुप्रभातम्॥
Haravirincha sanandanadyaha – Shiva, Brahma, Sanandana, and other devas and rishis have come.
Shreyorthinaha – they have come praying for their welfare – to you.
Shree Swamipushkarinee plava nirmalangaha – after taking bath and purifying themselves in the Pushkarini,
their uthamangas (heads)
Vara vetra hataha – the guards at the doors have hit them on the head with canes, asking them to stay patiently. They are waiting for you at your door.
Shree Venkatachalapate tava suprabhatam.
श्री शेषशैल गरुडाचल वेङ्कटाद्रि
नारायणाद्रि वृषभाद्रि वृषाद्रि मुख्याम्।
आख्याम् त्वदीय वसतेरनिशं वदन्ति
श्रीवेङ्कटाचलपते तव सुप्रभातम्॥
Tvadeeya vasatehe aakhyam – the name of your abode
Anisham vadanti – people continuously take the name of your abode as
Sheshashaila, Garudachala, Venkatadri, Narayanadri, Vrishabhadri, Vrishadri
Mukhyam – and various other names.
They keep on talking about your abode, taking all these names; this is what they do while waiting to get a darshana of you.
Shree Venkatachalapate tava suprabhatam.
सेवापराः शिव सुरेश कृशानु धर्म
रक्षोऽम्बुनाथ पवमान धनाधिनाथाः।
बद्धाञ्जलि प्रविलसन्निजशीर्ष देशाः
श्रीवेङ्कटाचलपते तव सुप्रभातम्॥
Shiva – lord of Aishanaya (northeast),
Suresha – Indra, lord of the east,
Krishanu – Agni,
Dharma – Yama,
Raksha – Nirruti,
Ambunatha – Varuna,
Pavamana – Vayu,
Dhanadhinatha – Kubera,
The guardian deities of the eight directions, starting from the northeast,
Baddanjali pravilasan nija sheersha deshaha – their folded hands held above their heads,
Seva paraha – they are all there ready to serve you.
Shree Venkatachalapate tava suprabhatam.
घाटीषु ते विहगराज मृगाधिराज-
नागाधिराज गजराज हयाधिराजाः।
स्वस्वाधिकार महिमाधिकमर्थयन्ते
श्रीवेङ्कटाचलपते तव सुप्रभातम्॥
Gahatee – his expeditions to destroy enemies, when he comes out of the sanctum sanctorum to destroy evil.
Vihagaraja – lord of the birds, Garuda.
Mrigadhiraja – lion,
Nagadhiraja – lord of the serpents,
Gajaraja – lord of the elephants,
Hayadhiraja – lord of the horses.
They all want to exert their right to be your vehicle – Svasvadhikara mahimadhikam arthayante;
each of them wants to boast, "I am the lord’s favorite vehicle." He gives everyone a chance during Brahmotsava.
Shree Venkatachalapate tava suprabhatam.
सूर्येन्दु भौम बुध वाक्पति काव्य सौरि
स्वर्भानु केतु दिविषत्परिषत्प्रधानाः।
त्वद्दास दास चरमावधि दासदासाः
श्रीवेङ्कटाचलपते तव सुप्रभातम्॥
The Navagrahas – Surya, Indu (Chandra), Bhauma (Kuja, Angaraka), Budha, Vakpati (Brihaspati), Kavya (Shukra), Sauri (son of Surya, Shani), Svarbhanu (Rahu), and Ketu.
The Navagrahas – who are important members of the assembly of gods, Divishat parishat pradhanah.
They are – servants of the lowest servants of the servants of your servants. That much is your importance – Tvaddasa dasa charamavadhi dasa dashaha.
Shree Venkatachalapate tava suprabhatam.
त्वत्पादधूलि भरितस्फुरितोत्तमाङ्गाः
स्वर्गापवर्ग निरपेक्ष निजान्तरङ्गाः।
कल्पागमाऽऽकलनयाऽऽकुलतां लभन्ते
श्रीवेङ्कटाचलपते तव सुप्रभातम्॥
These immortals, the devas whose heads are adorned by the dust at your feet – Tvat pada dhuli bharita sphuritothamangaha – have kept their heads at your feet.
Svargapavarga nirapeksha nijantarangaha – they have made up in their minds that they don’t want heaven anymore, nor do they want Apavarga (moksha).
They are only worried about one thing – Aakulatam labhante.
Kalpagamakalanaya – when this kalpa ends and the new kalpa begins, they will have to leave your lotus feet; that is their worry. They are worried about that future when they will have to leave you when the kalpa comes to an end.
