त्वद्गोपुराग्रशिखराणि निरीक्षमाणाः
स्वर्गापवर्गपदवीं परमां श्रयन्तः।
मर्त्या मनुष्यभुवने मतिमाश्रयन्ते
श्रीवेङ्कटाचलपते तव सुप्रभातम्॥
Svargapavarga padaveem paramam shrayantaha martyaha – those who are traveling through the sky to reach heaven or attain moksha, the noble souls who are either proceeding towards swarga or towards moksha.
Tvadgopura shikharani nireekshamanaha – once they see the top of your gopura,
Manushya bhuvane matimashtayante – they change their mind and come back to this world to serve your lotus feet.
They don’t want swarga, they don’t want moksha.
They just want to be at your feet, serving you.
Shree Venkatachalapate tava suprabhatam.
श्रीभूमिनायक दयादिगुणामृताब्धे
देवाधिदेव जगदेकशरण्यमूर्ते।
श्रीमन्ननन्त गरुडादिभिरर्चिताङ्घ्रे
श्रीवेङ्कटाचलपते तव सुप्रभातम्॥
Nayaka – lord of both Lakshmi Devi and Bhumi Devi,
Dayadi gunamritabdhe – the ocean of amrita of qualities such as kindness,
Devadhideva – deva of even the devas,
Jagadeka sharanya murte – the only refuge for the whole world.
Shreeman – you possess an abundance of aishwarya.
Ananta garudadibhirarchitanghre – Ananta, Garuda, and others worship your feet.
Shree Venkatachalapate tava suprabhatam.
श्रीपद्मनाभ पुरुषोत्तम वासुदेव
वैकुण्ठ माधव जनार्दन चक्रपाणे।
श्रीवत्सचिन्ह शरणागतपारिजात
श्रीवेङ्कटाचलपते तव सुप्रभातम्॥
Padmanabha – in your nabhi (navel) is the padma (lotus) in which the creator Brahma sits.
The Veda says yajno bhuvanasya nabhihi and also yajno vai Vishnu. Vishnu is yajna, and yajna is the nabhi of the universe. Nabhi is the center.
The whole universe originated from yajna and is sustained by yajna. That is the connection with your nabhi. The creator Brahma sits on a lotus coming out of your nabhi.
Purushottama – Purusha uthama, the greatest among the great.
Vasudeva –
छादयामि जगत्सर्वं भूत्वा सूर्य इवांशुभिः
सर्वभूताधिवासश्च वासुदेवस्ततः स्मृतः
"I cover the whole world like the sun does with his rays. I live in all beings; hence, I am called Vasudeva," says Bhagawan.
Vaikuntha –
मया संश्लेषिता भूमिरद्भिर्व्योम च वायुना।
वायुश्च तेजसा सार्धं वैकुण्ठत्वं ततो मम॥
"At the beginning, after the pancha bhutas were created, they were independent and could not function. I mixed the five bhutas – akasha, vayu, agni, jalam, and bhumi – so that they depend on each other for existence. Since I created this interdependence (vikuntha), I am called Vaikuntha," says Bhagawan.
Madhava – husband of Maa Lakshmi.
Janardana – janan durjanan ardayati – you punish evil men.
Chakra Pani – you hold the Sudarshana chakra in your hand.
Shree Vatsa Chihna – Sreevatsa adorns your chest.
Sharanagata Parijata – to those who take refuge in you, you are the parijata, the divine tree that grants all wishes.
