Meaning- May the weapons employed by our enemies to kill us fall far away from us. May all Devas including Indra, Bhaga, and Savita become our well wishers and protect us from the weapons of our enemies. May Goddess Earth and the powerful Marudgana provide us with abundant comforts and properties. May Devas such as Indra protect us from the weapons of our enemies, give us and our children comforts, and also remove our troubles.
According to Skanda Purana, Ilvala and Vatapi are sons of Sage Durvasa and Ajamukhi (a demoness). They asked their father to transfer all his power to them. Durvasa got angry and cursed that they will die at the hands of Agasthya.
