भगवन् देव देवेश कृपया त्वं जगत्प्रभो।

वंशाख्यं कवचं ब्रूहि मह्यं शिष्याय तेऽनघ।

यस्य प्रभावाद्देवेश वंशवृद्धिर्हिजायते ॥ १॥

Meaning:
'O Lord of Lords, Master of the Universe, please out of your mercy,
Teach me, your devoted disciple, the 'Vamshakhya Kavacha'.
By whose power, O Lord, the lineage increases.'

सूर्य उवाच

श‍ृणु पुत्र प्रवक्ष्यामि वंशाख्यं कवचं शुभम्।

सन्तानवृद्धिः पठनाद्गर्भरक्षा सदा नृणाम् ॥ २॥

Meaning:
The Sun God spoke:
'Listen, my son, I will teach you the sacred 'Vanshakya Kavacha',
By reciting it, one ensures the protection of offspring and safety during pregnancy.'

वन्ध्याऽपि लभते पुत्रं काकवन्ध्या सुतैर्युता।

मृतवत्सा सुपुत्रा स्यात्स्रवद्गर्भा स्थिरप्रजा ॥ ३॥

Meaning:
'An infertile woman will bear a son, and even a woman who has lost children,
Will have good offspring; even a woman with miscarriages will have stable pregnancy.'

अपुष्पा पुष्पिणी यस्य धारणाच्च सुखप्रसूः।

कन्या प्रजा पुत्रिणी स्यादेतत् स्तोत्रप्रभावतः ॥ ४॥

Meaning:
'A woman who could not conceive will become fertile, and by wearing this (written as amulet),
She will deliver safely; a woman who has only daughters will turn into a mother of sons through the power of this hymn.'

भूतप्रेतादिजा बाधा या बाधा कुलदोषजा।

ग्रहबाधा देवबाधा बाधा शत्रुकृता च या ॥ ५॥

Meaning:
'All obstacles caused by evil spirits, family curses, planetary afflictions,
Divine hindrances, or enemies will be destroyed.'

भस्मीभवन्ति सर्वास्ताः कवचस्य प्रभावतः।

सर्वे रोगा विनश्यन्ति सर्वे बालग्रहाश्च ये ॥ ६॥

Meaning:
'All these will be turned to ashes by the power of this Kavacha,
All diseases and harmful influences affecting children will be eliminated.'

पुर्वे रक्षतु वाराही चाग्नेय्यां चाम्बिका स्वयम्।

दक्षिणे चण्डिका रक्षेनैरृते शववाहिनी ॥ १॥

Meaning:
'May Goddess Varahi protect in the east, Ambika herself in the southeast,
In the south, may Chandika protect, and in the southwest, the devi who rides a corpse.'

वाराही पश्चिमे रक्षेद्वायव्यां च महेश्वरी।

उत्तरे वैष्णवी रक्षेत् ईशाने सिंहवाहिनी ॥ २॥

Meaning:
'May Varahi protect in the west, and Maheshwari in the northwest,
In the north, may Vaishnavi protect, and in the northeast, the lion-riding Goddess.'

ऊर्ध्वे तु शारदा रक्षेदधो रक्षतु पार्वती।

शाकम्भरी शिरो रक्षेन्मुखं रक्षतु भैरवी ॥ ३॥

Meaning:
'May Sharada protect from above, and Parvati from below,
May Shakambhari protect the head, and Bhairavi guard the face.'

कण्ठं रक्षतु चामुण्डा हृदयं रक्षतात् शिवा।

ईशानी च भुजौ रक्षेत् कुक्षिं नाभिं च कालिका ॥ ४॥

Meaning:
'May Chamunda protect the neck, and Shivaa protect the heart,
Ishani will guard the arms, and Kalika will protect the abdomen and navel.'

अपर्णा ह्युदरं रक्षेत्कटिं वस्तिं शिवप्रिया।

ऊरू रक्षतु कौमारी जया जानुद्वयं तथा ॥ ५॥

Meaning:
'May Aparna guard the stomach, and Shivapriya guard the waist and lower abdomen,
May Kumari protect the thighs, and Jaya guard both knees.'

गुल्फौ पादौ सदा रक्षेद्ब्रह्माणी परमेश्वरी।

सर्वाङ्गानि सदा रक्षेद्दुर्गा दुर्गार्तिनाशनी ॥ ६॥

Meaning:
'May Brahmani, the Supreme Goddess, protect the ankles and feet,
And may Goddess Durga, the destroyer of all miseries, protect all the limbs.'

नमो देव्यै महादेव्यै दुर्गायै सततं नमः।

पुत्रसौख्यं देहि देहि गर्भरक्षां कुरुष्व मे ॥ ७॥

Meaning:
'Salutations to the Goddess, the Supreme Goddess, and to Durga, I bow always,
Grant me the happiness of children and protect my pregnancy.'

ॐ ह्रीं ह्रीं ह्रीं श्रीं श्रीं श्रीं ऐं ऐं ऐं महाकाली महालक्ष्मी महासरस्वतीरूपायै नवकोटिमूर्त्यै दुर्गायै नमः ॥ ८॥

Meaning:
'Om Hreem Hreem Hreem Shreem Shreem Shreem Aim Aim Aim, I salute the form of Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati,
Salutations to Durga, who manifests in nine forms.'

ॐ ह्रीं ह्रीं ह्रीं दुर्गे दुर्गार्तिनाशिनी सन्तानसौख्यं देहि देहि वन्ध्यत्वं मृतवत्सत्वं च हर हर गर्भरक्षां कुरु कुरु सकलां बाधां कुलजां बाह्यजां कृतामकृतां च नाशय नाशय सर्वगात्राणि रक्ष रक्ष गर्भं पोषय पोषय सर्वोपद्रवं शोषय शोषय स्वाहा ॥ ९॥

Meaning:
'Om Hreem Hreem Hreem, O Durga, remover of all difficulties, grant me the happiness of children,
Destroy infertility and the loss of children, protect the womb and remove all inner and outer obstacles, protect all limbs and nourish the pregnancy, destroy all disturbances, Swaha.'

अनेन कवचेनाङ्गं सप्तवाराभिमन्त्रितम्।

ऋतुस्नाता जलं पीत्वा भवेत् गर्भवती ध्रुवम् ॥ १॥

Meaning:
'By reciting this Kavacha seven times and drinking water thus energized with this mantra during fertile period, A woman will certainly conceive.'

गर्भपातभये पीत्वा दृढगर्भा प्रजायते।

अनेन कवचेनाथ मार्जिताया निशागमे ॥ २॥

Meaning:
'By drinking water energized with this Kavacha in times of fear of miscarriage,
A strong and healthy pregnancy will be ensured by the power of this Kavacha.'

सर्वबाधाविनिर्मुक्ता गर्भिणी स्यान्न संशयः।

अनेन कवचेनेह ग्रथितं रक्तदोरकम् ॥ ३॥

Meaning:
'A pregnant woman will be free from all obstacles, without a doubt,
By tying a red thread energized with this Kavacha.'

कटिदेशे धारयन्ती सुपुत्रसुखभागिनी।

असूतपुत्रमिन्द्राणी जयन्तं यत्प्रभावतः ॥ ४॥

Meaning:
'By wearing it around the waist, she will be blessed with the joy of a good son,
Just as Indrani gave birth to Jayant by its power.'

गुरूपदिष्टं वंशाख्यं तदिदं कवचं सखे।

गुह्याद्गुह्यतरं चेदं न प्रकाश्यं हि सर्वतः।

धारणात् पठनाद्यस्य वंशच्छेदो न जायते ॥ ५॥

Meaning:
'This 'Vamshakhya Kavacha' was taught by the Guru, my friend,
It is extremely secret and should not be revealed to everyone.
By reciting and wearing it, the lineage will never be destroyed.'
