A story for children which tells about Aswini Devas and how they helped Bhujyu, a prince, in the middle of the sea.

How was Sudarsana chakra made?

Viswakarma's daughter Samjna was married to Surya. She could not bear his heat and complained to her father. Viswakarma put Surya under his grinder and removed one-eighth of him. From this powder were made Sudarshana chakra, Shiva's Trishoola, Subrahmanya's spear, and Pushpaka vimana. During Khanadva dahana, Agni gave Sudrsana to Krishna.

Aswini Kumaras are very powerful Gods.
They are the physicians of Swarga.
Physicians among Devas.
Their individual names are Nasatya and Dasra.
But they always move about together in a honey-colored very fast chariot.

They may be physicians of Swarga, but whenever called out, they come to the help of others also.

There was a king called Tugra.
The merchants from his kingdom were frequently attacked by pirates in the sea.
They were robbed.
These pirates lived on an island near Tugra's kingdom.
Whenever ships passed near the island the pirates would attack and rob them.

The merchants complained to the king.
Your majesty, we are unable to do business.
Whenever we pass through the strait near that island we are attacked and robbed.
There is no other route also.
Please protect us.

It is the king's duty to protect his subjects.

Tugra told his wife and son.
The prince's name was Bhujyu.

That he was going to the island to destroy the pirated.

Bhujyu said, father please allow me to go.
I will destroy the pirates.

But you are too young.
Also, you have no experience in warfare.

Bhujyu said that is exactly why I should go.
I have learned all about weapons and fighting.
Practical experience is what I don't have, please allow me to go, I will not disappoint you.

Tugra finally agreed.

Bhujyu and a good number of soldiers set out towards the island.
Before sailing out, Tugra and Bhujyu prayed to Aswini Devas and made offerings to them.
They were devotees of Aswini Devas.

Unfortunately, on the way to the island, they met with a violent storm and their ship was wrecked.

Bhujyu was in the cold sea struggling to keep himself floating and alive.
He called out to the Aswini Kumaras.
Please help me, please help me.

Suddenly a ship appeared on the horizon.
The Devas themselves were in that ship.
Bhujyu was rescued.
And also the other soldiers.
Aswini kumaras brought them all back safely and then disappeared.

Once he was healthy and fit, Bhujyu told his father.
I will go again.
Are you sure?
Yes, I am.
I will not leave in the middle a task that I have undertaken.

Bhujyu went to the island again and this time defeated and destroyed the pirates.

He came back with all the goods that they had stolen from the merchants.
The merchants became happy to get back their stuff.

Tugra also became proud of his son.

Gods help those who are brave and ready to work hard in fulfilling their duties.
