चण्डेश्वर्यै च विद्महे महादेव्यै च धीमहि तन्नश्चण्डी प्रचोदयात्
chandeshvaryai cha vidmahe mahadevyai cha dhimahi tannashchandi prachodayat
We meditate upon Chandeswari, the Great Goddess, and may that Chandi inspire and illuminate our intellect.
चण्डेश्वर्यै (to Chandeswari) च (and) विद्महे (we know) महादेव्यै (to the Great Goddess) च (and) धीमहि (we meditate) तन्नः (may she) चण्डी (Chandi) प्रचोदयात् (inspire, illuminate)
This is a powerful mantra invoking the blessings of Chandi, the fierce aspect of the Great Goddess, Mahadevi. By meditating on her, devotees seek her guidance and illumination in their intellect, hoping to be inspired and blessed with wisdom.
Chanting this mantra helps in invoking the fierce and protective aspects of the Divine Mother, providing strength, courage, and wisdom. It is believed to remove obstacles, enhance intellectual capabilities, and provide divine guidance and protection to the devotee.
There is no vision like knowledge and no penance like truth. Attachment is the greatest source of sorrow, while sacrifice brings the greatest happiness.
There is an idol of Rishi Agastya on top of Agastyarkoodam. In addition to this, there are Agastya temples in: Papanasam, Tirunelveli dist., Tamil Nadu; Vellalappatti, Madurai dist., Tamil Nadu; Agastyamuni, Uttarakhand.
