You must have definitely heard about Birbal.

The wise advisor of Akbar.

His original name was Mahesh Das Brahmabhat.

He was born in Madhya Pradesh.

He was a good poet, was called Brahma Kavi in the court of the king of Rewa.

Then he became Kavi Priya in Akbar's court.

Birbal is a title.

Once a messenger from the king of Lanka came to Akbar's court and said: our king has come to know that there are many wise members in your majesty's court.

He has requested you to send a potful of wisdom.

Now, this is a tricky situation.

Wisdom is not something that you can put in a pot.

But, if suitable reply is not given, then it would mean that they have been stumped.

Everyone thought that even Birbal will be in trouble this time.

This is so tricky.

Birbal was called in.

He said: of course, we will give you.

Give us a few weeks to prepare it and give it you.

The messenger was given suitable accommodation until then.

Birbal called for a pot of a size that can contain a pumpkin, with a narrow neck.

With that, he went to the vegetable garden.

Kept a pumpkin flower inside the pot.

And told the gardener: take care of this, don't move it anywhere.

Let the flower grow into a pumpkin inside the pot.

Birbal would frequently go to the garden and check the status.

When the pumpkin had fully grown and filled the pot, he cut it and brought the pot to the court with the pumpkin inside.

It was time to call the messenger.

The messenger was handed over the pot with the pumpkin inside and told: this is a potful of wisdom.

Please give it to the honorable king of Lanka.

And also inform him that to take it out there are two conditions: you should not break the pot, or cause even a scratch on the wisdom inside.

Everyone was convinced again of Birbal's unbeatable wisdom.
