Aiswarya of Sri Hari is Natural

Coming to Sri Suktam

The first mantra

This mantra is addressed to Jataveda.
He Jatavedaha
Jatavedo Ma Aavaha

Who is Jataveda – normally Agni is called Jatavedas. Here the meaning is Lakshmipati Sri Hari.

All these – Janana, Aiswarya, Yashas – they are Swatassidha, are His own only for Sri Hari. For everyone else, they are given by someone. They did not have them originally. They were conferred upon these by someone at some point in time. Sri Hari never got them from anyone. He always had them – that is why He is called Jatavedahaha.

As a result of worshiping Sri Hari for thousands of crores of Yugas, Brahma became Brahma. He became the creator of the three worlds – says Mahabharata.

Same is the case with Indra also.

You alone have given heat to Agni. You alone have given brilliance to Surya. You alone have given splendour to Chandra. Sri Hari is the giver of everything to everyone. But He has never accepted anything from anyone. He has not been given anything by anyone. For Him everything is Swatasiddha.

There are two words here – Hitatvam and Ramaneetvam.

Hitatvam – because She grants everything that is pleasant, everything that is auspicious, everything that is joy giving. She grants all wishes,

Then Ramaneetvam –

सर्वलक्षणसंपन्ना – satisfying each and every requirement of feminine beauty.
स्फुरत्कान्तिमती – radiating brilliance.

That is the Ramaneetva of Mata.

She removes all sins, hence She is Harana Sheela Harinee.

सुवर्ण रजत स्रजां – quite befitting Her beauty, She wears ornaments, garlands made of gold and silver.

  • Why invoke Jataveda if the prayer is about Lakshmi?
Fire is the carrier of offerings and the revealer of truth. Invoking Jataveda is a way to call the power that brings the deity near and makes inner insight visible.

  • What does swatasiddha really mean?
It means inherent and self-existing. Sri Hari does not acquire knowledge, fame, or wealth; these qualities are intrinsic to Him. Others receive them as grants; He is their source.

  • If everything comes from one source, why pray at all?
Prayer aligns you with the source. Alignment reduces inner friction, cleans intention, and makes action effective.

  • Is Lakshmi only about money?
No. Wealth is one facet. Lakshmi is the principle of nourishment, harmony, fruition, and graceful order in life.

  • What is the point of describing beauty and ornaments?
Beauty conveys completeness and the attractiveness of virtue. Ornaments symbolize refined qualities shining forth when life is in harmony.

  • How can Sri Hari give to everyone and accept nothing?
The sun gives light without needing a lamp. Likewise, Bhagavan is the fountainhead; giving does not reduce Him, nor does He depend on any external supply.

  • Did Brahma and Indra really need grace to gain their roles?
Yes. High offices in the cosmos are attained through worship and merit. Even the greatest beings stand on the support of the Supreme.

  • What does it mean that sins are removed?
Removal of sins means dissolving inner tendencies that cause harm and confusion. When those patterns fade, clarity, responsibility, and steadiness arise.

  • Is asking for material wishes wrong?
No, but ask with dharma and gratitude. Seek what helps you serve better, grow wiser, and keep your mind clean while acting.

  • How do hitatvam and ramaneetvam help me day to day?
Hitatvam guides you to choose what is truly beneficial, not merely pleasant. Ramaneetvam brings grace to your conduct so that good choices become attractive and sustainable.

  • If Agni, Surya, and Chandra get their powers from one source, do many gods still make sense?
Yes. Many functions, one reality. Different deities express distinct aspects of the one truth, like organs in one body.

  • What is the practical use of the invocation ‘bring her here’?
It is a focused intention: make the qualities of Lakshmi present in my mind and life now—peace, order, and timely success.

  • Does this view kill personal effort?
No. It purifies effort. You work fully, knowing the ground of success is grace. This removes arrogance and despair, and keeps you steady.

  • How do I apply all this in a simple routine?
Start with a clean intention, offer your work mentally, act diligently, keep gratitude, and close the day with a brief remembrance of Sri Hari and Lakshmi. Steady practice builds inner wealth.
