Why do we say Sita Mata… Radha Mata…?
Are they our biological mothers?
No.
Then why ‘Mata’?
Because in our tradition,
‘Mother’ means one who gives…
one who sustains…
one who uplifts your life.
Sita is called Mata.
Because she shows how to stand strong in suffering…
without breaking your dharma.
Radha is called Mata.
Because she teaches the highest love for Bhagavan…
a love that transforms the soul.
Lakshmi Mata… gives stability and support.
Saraswati Mata… gives knowledge and clarity.
Durga Mata… protects when nothing else can.
Ganga Mata… purifies your inner world.
Gau Mata… nourishes without asking anything back.
Bharat Mata… gives you identity, space, and life.
See the pattern?
Mother is not just who gives birth.
Mother is anyone
who protects you…
feeds you…
guides you…
and raises you to something higher.
That is why,
in Sanatana Dharma…
the whole universe
becomes your mother.
