Pradeep Gets Blessings of Ganesha

Pradeep Gets Blessings of Ganesha

Pradeep was one among the countless unemployed youth in our country. It had been three years since he passed B.Com with first class. There wasn’t a single government job he hadn’t applied for. There wasn’t a private office whose doors he hadn’t knocked on.

When he passed with flying colors, many patted his back and showered him with praises. But now when he saw those same faces, all he got were either pity or mocking smiles. Even his own family had started branding him as ‘useless’.

One afternoon, Pradeep was sitting idle under the big banyan tree in the village square, lost and directionless. An elderly stranger walked up to him. He asked who Pradeep was and what he was doing. Though hesitant at first, Pradeep ended up pouring his heart out.

The old man listened patiently and said,
‘You’ve done everything you could on your own, haven’t you? Now try walking the path of the Divine. Each month has two Chaturthi days. On those days, fast and visit a temple of Lord Ganesha. Offer some durva grass that you yourself pluck and a coconut. Do this sincerely for six months without a break. Also, chant Ganesha’s Ashtottara Shata Namavali every single day with devotion. The Lord will show you a way — trust me.’

Saying this, the old man sat a while longer, then quietly walked away.

With nothing left to lose, Pradeep decided to give it a shot. He followed everything the old man said, word for word — even though he wasn’t really expecting much.

Six months passed.

On the final day of the vrata, Pradeep was walking back from the temple. He was tired, worn out, and had all but given up hope.

Then, on the road, he saw someone walking toward him. A familiar face.

‘Recognize me?’ the man asked.

‘I’m Ravi — I was your senior in school. What are you doing these days?’

‘I finished B.Com… still haven’t found a job.’

‘Oh! I’ve been in Dubai for the past five years. I’m on a short break, returning in a week.’

They smiled, exchanged a few words, and parted ways.

A few days later, out of the blue, Pradeep got a call. It was Ravi.

‘There’s a vacancy in my company. If you’re interested, send me your resume and degree certificate copies.’

In no time, an online interview happened. Pradeep cleared it.

His visa came. With a heart full of joy, Pradeep flew to Dubai.

Everyone around him called it luck.

But Pradeep knew better.
He knew it wasn’t luck.
He knew it was the blessing of Lord Ganesha — the Lord who never abandons his true devotee.
