When Maharshi Narada came to know that Sri Hari had taken birth in Vraja Desha, he became impatient to take darshana of Bhagawan. So, he reached Gokula and went to the residence of Nandagopa. There, he took darshana of the Almighty who had assumed the form of Balakrishna.
He was lying in a golden cradle on top of a soft white cloth, asleep. Young gopika girls were all around him, competing with each other to take a look at him. Young Krishna smiled in his sleep. Narada told Nandagopa, you really do not know who this is, who has come to your place. This child of yours is cherished by everyone, even Brahma and other devas. Just keep watching what all your son is going to do.
Merely by listening to what he will do in the future, people are going to cross the samsara sagara and attain mukti. Merely by singing his praises, people will attain mukti and moksha. You are so lucky that you have no more worries, no longer have to think about how to reach Swargaloka or what to do to attain moksha. You only have to serve this son of yours. You do not have to do any other sadhana, read any scripture, perform tapas, or sit and meditate. You only have to take care of Balakrishna.
Narada thought, now that Sri Hari is here, Lakshmi Devi must also be somewhere here. She must have taken avatara somewhere nearby. So, he started going from house to house in search of a girl child who must be the avatara of Lakshmi Devi. Wherever he went, he was honoured and respected. This is the nature of the residents of Gokula. No wonder Bhagawan took avatara there.
He reached Vrishabhanu’s place and asked him if he had a son or a daughter who would bring him name and fame in the future. Vrishabhanu called his son, who came and offered pranama to the Maharshi. Then Bhanu took him inside to show his infant girl child, who was sleeping on the ground. One look and Narada realised who it was.
He took the child on his lap and sat like a rock for a few moments. Then tears started rolling down his cheeks in ananda. He said, Maharshi, I have moved about everywhere — in Indraloka, in Brahmaloka, in Rudraloka — I have seen all the devis and apsaras, but never have I seen anyone or anything as beautiful as this child. Even the beauty of Lakshmi, Saraswathi, or Parvathi is not even a shade near the beauty of this child. One look at her is enough to swell anybody’s Krishna bhakti many times over.
Narada felt it was his fortune to see the young Radha Rani that day. He started singing her praises. Her face is so pleasant that one look overflows the heart with ultimate joy. You are so overwhelmed that you do not know whether to run around jumping like a madman or cry. The fine line between emotions disappears. Everything is her. All the forces behind srishti, sthiti, and samhara of the universe are her. Pure vidya, pure knowledge is her. Nobody can know Radha Rani fully — not Brahma, not Rudra.
Even Sri Hari has not known her fully. His infinite aishwarya that we know of is small when compared to Radha Rani. All his glory, all the acts he has done in the countless avataras he has taken, are small when compared to her glory. As an infant itself, she mesmerises the whole world. Just imagine the state of Sri Hari when he sees her at the start of her youth.
Narada said, I want to see you as a fourteen-year-old girl, as you grow up to be the constant companion of my beloved Krishna. I am getting impatient. I want to see that now. Then he started doing nama sankeertana and kept looking at the child. Suddenly, Radha Rani transformed into what he prayed for.
Her beauty was indescribable; words cannot capture it. Gopikas dressed in beautiful garments flocked around her. Narada fainted in joy. The gopikas sprinkled him with the charanodaka of Radha Rani. They told him to hurry, as this was only a rare glance. Nobody else had been fortunate enough to see this. They urged him to take her blessings.
Narada started doing parikrama of Radha Rani and offered namaskara again and again. Suddenly, that form of Radha Rani disappeared. Narada said, in whichever home the sign of Radha Rani’s lotus feet is kept and worshipped, Srimannarayana will permanently reside there and bestow all prosperity and abundance in that house.
How can the infinite appear as a finite child?
The infinite does not shrink; it self-limits its expression. Like the ocean appearing in a wave, the essence remains ocean while the form is approachable.
Why would sages rush to see a newborn?
They recognise consciousness, not age. When truth stands before you, direct perception outruns scholarship.
How does seeing or hearing about the divine lead to liberation?
Attention shapes mind. Continuous, love-filled remembrance burns habits of clinging, so suffering loses its fuel.
Does devotion replace study, meditation, and austerity?
When devotion is total, the results of those practices arrive naturally. Means become optional when the goal is already present.
What is the logic of serving a person as a spiritual path?
Service dissolves ego through action. When done to the highest ideal, it purifies faster than self-centred effort.
If even great deities cannot fully grasp the divine, what can humans know?
We know enough to love and align. Partial knowledge with full sincerity is more transformative than total theory without devotion.
Is beauty a spiritual force or just attraction?
Spiritual beauty harmonises truth, goodness, and joy. It awakens clarity and detachment instead of craving.
Why does worship of sacred symbols bring prosperity?
A symbol focuses mind on higher order. A focused, value-aligned mind makes wiser choices and creates outer harmony.
How do grace and karma interact?
Karma sets conditions; grace reorients the vector. When the heart turns fully, old tendencies lose command.
How can one test talk of incarnations without blind faith?
Look for alignment with dharma, uplift in those who engage, and consistency over time. Fruits reveal the tree.
Why is longing and impatience praised in devotion?
Intense yearning concentrates awareness. What you seek with your whole being reshapes your inner world.
Is a visionary transformation subjective or objective?
Both layers operate. Inner purity makes one capable of perceiving dimensions that others miss, yet the impact is concrete.
How should one relate to the divine’s masculine and feminine aspects?
See them as complementary powers: consciousness and its blissful energy. Wholeness needs both reverence and love.
What role does community play in divine presence?
A culture of hospitality, purity, and joy becomes a fitting vessel. Where hearts are ready, higher possibilities unfold.
What is a practical first step to tune into this grace today?
Pick one daily act of loving service, one hymn or name to repeat, and one moment of quiet offering. Do it unfailingly.
