The nakshatra which spreads from 23 degrees 20 minutes of Vrishabha Rashi to 6 degrees 40 minutes of Mithuna Rashi is called Mrigashirsha (मृगशीर्षम्). This is the fifth nakshatra in Vedic Astronomy. It is also known as Mrigashira. In Modern Astronomy, Mrigashirsha corresponds to Lambda, Phi- Orionis.
