मा नो विदन् विव्याधिनो मो अभिव्याधिनो विदन्। आराच्छरव्या अस्मद्विषूचीरिन्द्र पातय ॥
'May the arrows of our enemies not reach us. O Indra, may their shafts fall far away from us.'
विष्वञ्चो अस्मच्छरवः पतन्तु ये अस्ता ये चास्याः। दैवीर्मनुष्येषवो ममामित्रान् वि विध्यत ॥
'May the arrows aimed at us fall aside. O gods, strike down my human enemies.'
यो नः स्वो यो अरणः सजात उत निष्ट्यो यो अस्मामभिदासति। रुद्रः शरव्ययैतान् ममामित्रान् वि विध्यतु ॥
'Whether they are kin or strangers, whether near or far, O Rudra, may your arrows pierce my enemies.'
यः सपत्नो योऽसपत्नो यश्च द्विषन् छपाति नः। देवास्तं सर्वे धूर्वन्तु ब्रह्म वर्म ममान्तरम् ॥
'Whether rival or non-rival, whoever is our enemy, may all the gods destroy them. Let the protection of Brahma be my shield.'
अदारसृद्भवतु देव सोमास्मिन् यज्ञे मरुतो मृडता नः। मा नो विददभिभा मो अशस्तिर्मा नो विदद्वृजिना द्वेष्या या ॥
'O Soma, may this sacrifice please you. O Maruts, be gracious to us. May no harm befall us, and may no enemy’s curse affect us.'
यो अद्य सेन्यो वधोऽघायूनामुदीरते। युवं तं मित्रावरुणावस्मद्यावयतं परि ॥
'The enemy who plans to harm us today, O Mitra and Varuna, keep them far away.'
इतश्च यदमुतश्च यद्वधं वरुण यावय। वि महच्छर्म यच्छ वरीयो यावया वधम् ॥
'O Varuna, protect us from harm from all directions. Provide a great shield and avert the attack.'
शास इत्था महामस्यमित्रसाहो अस्तृतः। न यस्य हन्यते सखा न जीयते कदा चन ॥
'This great protector, undefeatable by enemies, never lets a friend be harmed or defeated.'
स्वस्तिदा विशां पतिर्वृत्रहा विमृधो वशी। वृषेन्द्रः पुर एतु नः सोमपा अभयंकरः ॥
'May the lord of the people, the slayer of Vritra, the mighty Indra, come before us, drinking Soma, bringing safety.'
वि न इन्द्र मृधो जहि नीचा यच्छ पृतन्यतः। अधमं गमया तमो यो अस्माँ अभिदासति ॥
'O Indra, destroy our enemies, subdue them in battle. Cast down those who attack us into the darkness.'
वि रक्षो वि मृधो जहि वि वृत्रस्य हनू रुज। वि मन्युमिन्द्र वृत्रहन्न् अमित्रस्याभिदासतः ॥
'O Indra, destroy the demons and enemies, shatter the jaws of Vritra. Crush the anger of our foes.'
अपेन्द्र द्विषतो मनोऽप जिज्यासतो वधम्। वि महच्छर्म यच्छ वरीयो यावया वधम् ॥
'O Indra, drive away the hostile minds, avert the desire to harm. Provide a great shield and avert the attack.'
