Lakshmi Devi Governs Entry to the Eternal World

That is why Ramayana says – अलमेषा परित्रातुं – she can single-handedly protect, she doesn’t need anyone to support her or help her.

Because she is nothing but Sri Hari’s power.

And she is
विश्वस्य भर्त्री – she commands the universe, she rules over the universe.

And she is
जगतः प्रतिष्ठा – she alone runs the universe, she as the power of Sri Hari, she alone blows the wind, she alone makes the sun shine, she alone makes the clouds give rain.

She is the shakti of Sri Hari. She is not different from Sri Hari.

And it is prayed to – सा नो लोकममृतं दधातु – may she give us that eternal world.

Sri Hari doesn’t give us that eternal world. She has to give. She has the authority to give.

You will be at times surprised – why so much importance is given to Radha. More of Radhe Radhe is said than Krishna Krishna. People may be doing this unknowingly, but this is the truth behind it.

If you want to attain the amruta loka of Sri Hari then she is the route. She is the immigration authority sitting at the airport to clear your entry into his world.

What is that world?
तद्विष्णोः परमं पदं सदा पश्यन्ति सूरयः।

The saints don’t develop systems of worship out of their whims and fancies. There will be underlying truth in the Vedas. There will be underlying statements in the Vedas. It is the ignorant who say – there is no Radha in the Vedas.

This is the principle behind yugalopasana. This one statement – सा नो लोकममृतं दधातु – is enough as the pramana of yugalopasana. She is the giver of that amruta loka. She decides who should enter that eternal world and who should not.

Vishnu Purana says:
त्वं सिद्धिस्त्वं स्वधा स्वाहा सुधा त्वं लोकपावनी।
सन्ध्या रात्रिः प्रभा भूतिर्मेधा श्रद्धा सरस्वती।।

She is lokapavani – she only purifies, she only gets rid of sins, thereby making one pure and eligible to enter Sri Hari’s loka.

यज्ञविद्या महाविद्या गुह्यविद्या च शोभने।
आत्मविद्या च देवि त्वं विमुक्तिफलदायनी।।

All kinds of vidyas leading to enlightenment, spiritual upliftment and finally moksha – be it yajnavidya, all the mahavidyas, even the dasha mahavidyas, guhya vidya – the closely guarded secret methods, aatma vidya – the Upanishadic principles – they are all Goddess Lakshmi only. They are all the shakti of Sri Hari. They are all Sri Hari alone in action.

And hence she is the vimukti phala dayini. She alone provides vimukti, moksha.

श्रद्धां देवा यजमानः – she is worshipped even by devas.

श्रद्धां प्रातर्हवामहे श्रद्धां मध्यंदिनं परि श्रद्धां सूर्यस्य निम्रुचि।

Gayatri Devi, who is worshipped in the morning, noon and at sunset – is she alone. The sandhyopasanas done at sunrise, noon and sunset are addressed to Goddess Lakshmi only.

श्रद्धा देवानधिवस्ते – she lives inside gods, she is the antaryami of the gods. Lakshmi Devi as the power of Sri Hari, as the shakti of Sri Hari, is the antaryami even of gods.

श्रद्धां कामस्य मातरं हविषा वर्धयामसि।

कामस्य माता – whatever is desirable, whatever is desired, longed for, she is the mother of all that.

Why mother? Mother gives birth, mother brings into existence what is non-existent.

When we say goddess is the giver of wealth and abundance – this is the basis. These are mostly what most people desire for, and she is the mother who brings into existence this wealth and abundance for those who don’t have them.

Not just wealth and abundance, she gives everything. She gives moksha as well, the ultimate desirable object or destination – nishreyas.

  • If the divine is one, why speak of two forms like the lord and his shakti?
One reality shows two functions. Consciousness is the knower and will; power is the doing and fruition. Seeing both helps the mind grasp how creation runs without splitting the divine.

  • Does honoring the feminine power reduce the lord’s greatness?
No. Honoring power honors the source of that power. Light and its radiance are inseparable; praising radiance points back to light.

  • What does it mean that she grants entry to the eternal world?
Liberation needs purity and alignment. Power grants the fitness by removing inner impurities and ripening merit, so the soul can abide in the lord’s presence.

  • Why do traditions give special importance to names like Radha or Lakshmi?
Because devotion reaches the lord most easily through compassion and grace. The feminine aspect symbolizes approachable mercy that prepares and lifts the seeker.

  • Is there scriptural basis for worshiping the divine couple together?
Yes. Many sources link the lord and his power as one working unity. Worshiping them together reflects this non-separate partnership.

  • If the divine pervades all, why pray at all?
Prayer tunes the mind to what already is. A tuned mind acts cleanly, receives grace, and stops blocking what the divine is ready to give.

  • What exactly is purified when she is called the purifier of worlds?
The mind’s residues: guilt, pride, envy, and restless craving. When these thin out, clarity, devotion, and steadiness appear. That clarity is eligibility for higher states.

  • Are wealth and success spiritual or a distraction?
They are tools. When gained and used ethically, they support duty and service. When clutched with greed, they thicken bondage. The same power can elevate or entangle.

  • If she grants liberation, what is my role?
Do the inner work: truthfulness, restraint, charity, devotion, study, and service. Grace meets effort the way rain meets tilled soil.

  • How do lord and power relate in daily life?
The lord is order, meaning, and guidance; power is movement, opportunity, and fruition. Plan with clarity, move with compassion, and let both cooperate in every action.

  • Why do sages design specific forms of worship instead of keeping it vague?
Forms channel attention. Clear forms and mantras create repeatable mental states that refine the heart and make it receptive to grace.

  • How can diverse spiritual knowledges all be called expressions of one goddess?
Because any true insight that liberates is an operation of divine power. Different gateways, same liberating current.

  • What is the eternal world being spoken of?
A state of unbroken awareness of the lord, free from fear and decay. It is not a tourist place but a realized condition of the soul.

  • Is grace arbitrary if she decides who enters?
No. Grace is lawful compassion. It responds to sincerity, surrender, and purification. It is personal, but never whimsical.

  • Do daily rites like morning and evening meditations matter for liberation?
Yes. They are small, steady polishings of the mirror. Regular rhythm stabilizes the mind and invites deeper grace.

  • How do I approach the divine couple without sectarian anxiety?
Hold the vision of unity-in-partnership. Address the lord with reverence, the goddess with trust, and keep the heart simple and honest.

  • What should I do when I feel unworthy or impure?
Start with small acts of truth and kindness, chant a steady name, and ask for purification. Power responds to sincerity faster than perfection.

  • Can devotion and knowledge coexist here?
They must. Knowledge shows oneness; devotion melts resistance. Together they make the soul ready for the highest good.

  • What is the practical sign that I am moving toward that world?
Less clutter in thought, less bitterness, natural gratitude, duty done without show, and a quiet joy that does not depend on outcomes.
