Do You Want Everlasting Wealth?

Do You Want Everlasting Wealth?

Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth, does not stay in one place for long—she is highly restless. History shows that even the greatest royal dynasties have vanished over time. This happens because Lakshmi eventually departs from them.

There is a sacred hymn called Lakshmi Narayana Hridayam. It is a prayer to Lakshmi Devi, pleading, ‘Never leave us.’ By paying attention to the meditation verse (Dhyana Shloka) of this hymn, one can understand many of the divine qualities of the Goddess:

Dhyana Shloka:
Vande Lakshmīm Parashivamayīm Shuddha Jāmbūnadābhām
Tejorūpām Kanakavasanām Sarvabhūṣhojjvalāngīm
Bījāpūram Kanakakalaśam Hemapadmam Dadhānām
Ādyām Shaktim Sakalajananīm Sarvamāngalyayuktām

How to Invite the Presence of Lakshmi Devi?

  • Worship her image with devotion.
  • Chant sacred hymns and mantras.
  • Continuously contemplate her divine presence.
  • Meditate on her divine form.

Understanding the Divine Qualities of Lakshmi Devi

  • Parashivamayi – She embodies all forms of auspiciousness. She grants wealth, health, a good home, a loving family, kind neighbors, stable employment, favorable weather, happiness, and peace. Wherever she resides, all these blessings follow.

  • Shuddha Jāmbūnadābhā – She shines like pure gold. Jāmbūnada refers to a rare and divine type of gold. Near Mount Meru, in the region of Ilavrata, there is a celestial rose-apple tree (Jambu tree). Its enormous fruits fall to the ground, burst open, and release a juice that flows as a river. This river, which has a silvery hue, transforms the sands along its banks into gold—this is Jāmbūnada.

  • Kanakavasanā – She is adorned in golden garments.

  • Tejorūpā – She is the embodiment of divine radiance.

  • Sarvabhūṣhojjvalāngī – She is beautifully adorned with all kinds of ornaments.

  • Bījāpūram Kanakakalaśam Hemapadmam Dadhānām – She holds a golden pot filled with seeds and a golden lotus.

    • The seeds symbolize opportunities to create wealth, not just ready-made riches.
    • It is our responsibility to cultivate and nurture these opportunities with effort, just as a farmer sows seeds, tends to them, and reaps the harvest.
    • When done right, life will bloom like a golden lotus.
  • Ādyā Shakti – She is the primal energy behind everything.

  • Sakala Janani – She is the mother of all creation.

  • Sarvamāngalyayuktā – She embodies all forms of auspiciousness.

By meditating on Lakshmi Devi in this divine form, one can attain everlasting wealth.
