Sri Hari Also Showed His Vishwa Rupam to Yashoda Mata

On another occasion, Bhagawan showed His real form to Yashoda.
Sri Hari was very small, lying down on a gem-studded bed, sucking the thumb of His foot, His tummy full. Yashoda was by His side, petting Him and playing with Him. He yawned. Yashoda accidentally saw inside the mouth of Bhagawan. The whole universe was there — all the stars, planets, all the Devas.

Yashoda felt scared and closed her eyes. Bhagawan, with His Maya Shakti, made Yashoda forget this.

This process of creation is elaborated in Srimad Bhagavatam — 2nd Skandha, 5th Chapter. Narada is asking Brahma. He is asking for knowledge that can get him realization of Atma Tattva.

Brahma knows everything.

करामलकवद्विश्वं विज्ञानावसितं तव
He knows everything like a gooseberry in his own hand.
Brahma knows past, present, and future.
There is nothing that he doesn’t know.

Brahma creates the universe with Pancha Bhutas.
Like how a spider creates a cobweb and later moves around, plays around in it — in the same way, Brahma also plays around with his creation.

Narada asks — Where did you get all this knowledge? Who is your Swamy? Who or what supports you?

Whatever we see around — everything with a name or a form, anything that is of Satwik, Rajasik or Tamasik nature,
Whatever we call as real or illusory,
Whatever is good or bad — it is all created by you.
Still, you are engrossed in Tapas.

So, is there anyone greater than you whom you are worshiping?

I thought that you are Sarveswara, you know everything,
But you seem to be worshiping somebody else.
Is there someone like that?

Brahma said — Good that you asked me.
Till you hear from me who that omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent divinity is — this is the feeling that you get. Being the creator, I am the lord of everything.

This is typical to Hinduism.
When most religions consider the creator god as the highest, in Hinduism, there is someone above the creator god.
There is someone under whose command the creator god acts.
There is someone whom the creator god worships.

Brahma says — Good that you asked me. This has given me an opportunity to talk about that God who is above me, whom I worship.

तस्मै नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय धीमहि
यन्मायया दुर्जयया मां वदन्ति जगद्गुरुम्

Says Brahma — Namaskaras to that Vasudeva, due to whose Maya people confuse me for the most powerful, Sarveswara, Jagadguru.
The same Maya due to which people think 'I am so and so' and 'these are mine' — sense of individuality and sense of ownership.

Materials, actions, time, nature, life force — everything is Sri Hari alone. There is nothing other than Him.
The Vedas talk only about Him.
All Devas are part of Him.
All Yajnas are performed only to please Him.
Every Tapasya, Sadhana is performed to achieve Him alone, to get to Him alone.

Whatever is desired to be achieved, whatever are the means of achievement —
Knowledge, for example, is what you want to achieve and books are the means — both are Sri Hari alone.

He watches over everything, He is the Lord of everything.
He only made me.
Following His vision, His intention, His instruction — I create.
For the purpose of creation, He activated the Rajoguna.
For the purpose of sustenance, the Satwa Guna.
And for dissolution, Tamoguna.
