You Should Have Absolute Confidence in Sri Hari

Purusha, the Atma, is ever free.
But these gunas, together with materials, awareness, and actions, bind the Atma into the delusion of cause and effect, and the sense that 'I am doing it'.

I had money with which I bought food and had it.
Buying of food and eating is the effect, money is the cause, and the sense that 'I am doing it' is the kartrutva.

Dravya is the material called money — the currency, the coins — without which this is not possible. The food in material form.
Jnana — awareness, knowledge — that it is money, by seeing it, touching it, counting it, and that it can be used for buying food. That food can satisfy hunger.
Karma — action — taking the money out, going to the shop, buying food, putting it in the mouth, chewing, swallowing, all actions.

The gunas, along with dravya, jnana, and karma, make you think that you, as a doer, are doing a task which has a cause and an effect.

A train is on the platform. You start pushing it. You go on pushing it. After some time, the signal comes on and the train starts moving.
You think that the train moved because you pushed.
The actual cause is something else.
The cause — your push,
The effect — the train starts moving,
And your feeling that it happened out of your effort brings you under this delusion.
It is a play. It is a deception.

We are subject to a lot of these delusions.
It is fend for yourself throughout.
We feel that we have to keep on pushing for survival. Fighting for survival.

There was a scholar called Vararuchi. He never used to stay at one place. He used to roam around with his wife.
When his wife gave birth to their first child, Vararuchi wouldn’t even look at the child. He asked,
'Does it have a mouth?'
Wife said, 'Yes.'
'Leave the child behind. God has given the child a mouth means He has already made provision for its food. It will survive.'

The wife gave birth to eleven children like this. Every time Vararuchi would ask —
'Does it have a mouth?'
Then leave it behind.

The wife was really troubled. After all, she is a mother.
When the 12th child was born, she lied —
'No, it doesn’t have a mouth.'
The mouth of the child disappeared.
Because even a lie uttered by a noble woman turns out to be a truth.

Vararuchi was still not affected.
'Leave it behind. It will be taken care of.'
The child turned into an idol.
People built a temple for him and started making offerings.

See the confidence — the confidence that comes with knowledge.
Confidence that there is a system in place. Everything is being taken care of.
It is none other than Sri Hari who is taking care of things.
Can He fail? Can He go wrong?

If you are suffering, it is because you are supposed to undergo suffering as a consequence of your past deed —
Not because God has forgotten you.

If you are sick and suffering, two things are being taken care of simultaneously:
– Atonement for your past bad deed.
– Livelihood for health care professionals.

See how they are all interlinked.
If nobody falls sick, how will the doctors live?
How will the nurses live?
How will the entire health care industry survive?

God is not failing.
God is exactly doing what He is supposed to do.
