Benefits Of Performing Shraadha

What are the benefits of performing shraddha?
Enjoyment in Swarga Loka, progeny, strength, energy, courage, land and property, fame and honor, wealth, abundance, powerful position, commercial success, continuity in whatever you are doing, health, solution to problems and miseries, knowledge, medicines being effective, safety and protection, vehicles, achievement of desires day after day, longevity and finally moksha.
These are the benefits of performing shraadha.
How can an ordinary human being who has lived with you for so many years, who did not have any supernatural powers, how can he or she have so much power to bless you with all these?
What they could not do here, how can they do it once they are gone from here?
I mean there should be some logic right?
A mirror whose surface is dirty, can you see your face on that?
No.
But if you clean it, then it becomes visible.
This is what happens to the deceased person also.
With the pindas provided during the death rites, a new body called Ativahika sharira which is the size of the thumb is developed, the atma or the chetana that has left the body and wandering about gets into this newly formed body, meant for it, and goes to Chandra mandala.
When it reaches Chandra mandala, the atma divides itself into two parts: महानात्मा, प्रत्यगात्मा,
Mahanatma is Devatatmaka of the forms of Vasus, Rudras and Adityas.
Mahanatma or that part of the deceased person's atma continues to exist in Chandra mandala which is Pitruloka in the form of Devtas.
Powerful as Devatas.
That's why Veda says:
देवाः पितरः पितरो देवाः
They are similar.
Equally powerful.
The Pratyagatma is the dirt that is wiped off the mirror's surface.
Mahanatma is the clean mirror.
What happens to Pratyagatma?
Depending on the karma that the deceased person has done on earth, it either goes to a good world to enjoy or a bad world to suffer.
The doors to both these worlds are at the Chandra mandala.
Now. it is very easy to connect these Mahanatmas who are there in Pitruloka as your father, grandfather, and great grandfather along with their wives because they already have a natural affinity towards you.
They are already benevolent towards you.
It is easier to connect with them and please them rather than the Devas who are for everyone.
Devas don't have any such affinity towards you.
You are not a priority for them.
But your own forefathers who have now shed their Karma sharira and have become as powerful as Devas, they have an affinity towards you because you are their descendant.
That's why it is easier to connect to them.
How do you connect to them?
How do you show your goodwill towards a new neighbor?
You go to them with a gift, exchange niceties, invite them for dinner, go to them for dinner.
Words and materials. maybe body language.
This is how we connect with people, show our good will.
Same here also.
Mantras, offering of food, and appropriate body language in the form of namaskaras.
This is what shraddha is all about.
