108 Divya Desams

108 divya desam pdf sample page

The 108 Divya Desams are the holiest abodes of Lord Vishnu as revered by the twelve Alwars—devotee-saints of the Sri Vaishnava tradition. These temples have been sanctified by the devotional hymns (Paasurams) found in the Nalayira Divya Prabandham, a compilation of 4000 Tamil verses.

Among these, 106 temples are located on Earth (Bhooloka), while the remaining two are celestial—one in the Ocean of Milk (Thirupparkadal) and the other in Vaikuntha (Paramapadam), the eternal abode of Lord Vishnu.

Conclusion

The 108 Divya Desams are not merely temples—they are sanctified spaces where devotion, poetry, tradition, and divine presence converge. Pilgrimage to these temples is not only a spiritual undertaking but also a reaffirmation of the eternal bond between the devotee and the Supreme Being, Lord Vishnu.

If you would like a breakdown of each Divya Desam with its presiding deity, location, and Alwar associated with it, I can provide that in the next step.
