Why Even Brahma Cannot Fully Understand the Supreme
Brahma says even he has not been able to understand Sri Hari’s Maya fully. He says that even he is under its control. Maya, which makes you forget your past birth.

Brahma says — even we only know about and praise about his avataras only, not the real Paramatma. So, the first avatara of Sri Hari Paramatma was Virat Purusha, from whose parts the entire universe originates, kalpa after kalpa.
Time, nature, cause, effect, mind, Pancha Bhutas, ahankara, the three gunas, the jnanendriyas, the karmendriyas, the entire cosmic universe, all the gods and goddesses, movables, immovables — they are all different forms of Paramatma Sri Hari only. Brahma, Shiva, Prajapatis, the Rishis, the devotees, protectors of heaven, Garuda, the rulers of the Pathala, Gandharvas, Vidyadharas, Charanas, their leaders, Yakshas, Rakshasas, serpents, their kings, Maharshis, Daityas, Danavas, Yama, Pretas, Pisachas, Bhutas, animals in the water, birds — whatever you see around you, prosperity, power, physical power, mental power, tolerance, beauty, all the objects of different colours and shapes — they are different forms of Sri Hari Paramatma.
From the mouth was born Saraswathi.
From his genitals, ocean.
From his excretory organs, Nirriti.
From his shadow, Kardama.
In this manner, the whole universe is born out of the body and mind of Brahma.
There is a bit of confusion here. When we spoke about Virat Purusha, we also had a similar description about various objects and beings being born out of the organs of Virat Purusha. Now, this description of srishti also sounds similar.
So which is correct — universe was born out of Virat Purusha or Brahma?
First of all, Virat Purusha was born out of the golden egg. When the golden egg broke, Virat Purusha came out. He is the first avatara of Paramatma Sri Hari. From Virat Purusha’s nabhi, Brahma was born.
One kalpa means 4.32 billion years. This is one day time for Brahma. At the beginning of his day, he creates. This creation lasts for 4.32 billion years, and then towards his evening, the universe thus created and sustained dissolves back into nothing. Then during Brahma’s night, there is nothing — that is nothing for the next 4.32 billion years. Again, next day morning, Brahma creates.
360 such days constitute Brahma’s one year. Hundred such years make Brahma’s lifetime. The present Brahma is 51 years old. Once a Brahma is born out of Virat Purusha’s nabhi, he lives for 100 years, and every day he creates a new universe which lasts for 4.32 billion human years.
What Virat Purusha put in place was the master plan. Brahma just recreates based on that master plan. Brahma’s creation is just a reproduction of Virat Purusha’s creation. Virat Purusha showed once how to create and delegated the task to Brahma, telling him, ‘This is what you have to do every day once you wake up.’
There is no confusion. Now we are talking about one Brahma, who created this universe in which you and I live. We said before — from every pore on the skin of Karanodakashayi Vishnu, numerous universes come out, and each universe has its own Brahma. That means when we talk about Brahma sitting on the lotus coming out of Bhagawan’s navel and creating, it is Garbhodakashayi Vishnu, and not Karanodakashayi.
From the body and mind of Brahma, the universe as we see now is created.
