Sri Hari, the One and Only Supreme Truth

says Brihadaranyakopanishad. All this originally was Brahma. One and only one Brahma. Being one, he could not flourish, increase.

There is no seer other than him.
It is stationary, unmoving, still faster than mind.
For someone who realizes this oneness, where is the chance of falling into any delusion? Can there be any grief for him?

Rigveda says –
The Supreme Lord should be known as the Purusha inside all beings.
Originally, this Atma, Paramatma, Sri Hari alone was there. Nothing else.
That Sat, that ultimate truth alone, that one and only truth is described by the scholars using different terms.
One and only, but perceived as many.
The one and only support for all the worlds.
One and only Agni, burning/blazing in several forms.

Chandogya Upanishad says –
Only that Sat was there at first. Nothing else. No second. Only one.

The yogi who has realized and affirmed oneness and sees me in everything, he lives in me only. Externally, he may do multiple things; his actions may not show that he has realized me. The realization of oneness – Ekatva – is the realization that it is me alone who is present in everything.

The real scholar, the jnani, doesn’t differentiate between the learned and humble Brahmin, a cow, an elephant, a dog, or an outcaste. For him, they are all the same because it is the same Supreme Reality that is within all of them.

‘Gudaaka’ means the indriyas, senses – their ‘isha’, one who has command over the senses. Arjuna is being addressed by Sri Hari as Gudakeshaha. I alone am in the hearts of all beings. I am the beginning, the middle, and end of all.

Brahma is attained when one realizes that this manifold, this multitude that we see around, has sprung out of, spread out of a single source, single entity.

Just as the single Sun illuminates the whole world, the Lord Sri Hari alone gives chetana to all the beings.

Arjuna was perturbed by his dharma – his obligations, traditional and ethical – as the battle was going on. Sri Hari tells him: Leave everything aside. Have full confidence in me. When you do that, your responsibilities cease to exist. Then it is my responsibility to take you ahead.

Oh! Purushottama, among all the Devas you are the most wonderful and blissful. There is no comparison to you.
