Satyam Bruyat, Priyam Bruyat: Speak the Truth, Speak it Sweetly

Namaskar and welcome! Today, we are exploring a deeply transformative aspect of Sanatana Dharma—the immense power of our words and the profound virtue of speech.

Namaskar! Yes, verbal conduct,  is truly the foundation of a pure life. How we speak doesn't just reflect our character; it actually shapes our entire spiritual journey and inner peace.

Absolutely. One of the most important rules on this path is the complete avoidance of Ninda, which means gossiping, criticizing, or backbiting. Engaging in gossip, or even just listening to it with interest, fills the mind with unnecessary impurities.

It is a major distraction from our own spiritual growth. When we obsess over the faults of others, we immediately lose our inner peace. To build a calm mind that can focus on the Divine, leaving behind the habit of Ninda is absolutely essential.

And replacing that habit with truthful and sweet speech is the next beautiful step. There is a profound pillar of wisdom in Sanatana Dharma: speak the truth, and speak it sweetly. One should never speak a harsh truth, nor should they speak a sweet lie.

That balance is key. Truth is sacred; it should never be weaponized just to hurt someone. And on the flip side, we shouldn't tell a pleasant lie just to flatter another person. Abstaining entirely from harsh language, arrogant words, and verbal abuse conserves our spiritual energy.

In fact, humble and sweet speech is often described as a captivating charm—a Vashikaran Mantra! Speaking words that are beneficial, gentle, and free from deceit naturally creates an aura of peace and happiness around you.

Exactly. When our words become pure, our mind automatically becomes pure. It helps us conquer internal enemies like anger, ego, and jealousy. This purity of speech and mind is what leads to true, lasting inner peace and, ultimately, spiritual success.

By simply being mindful of what we say, we perform a powerful daily spiritual practice. Let us carry this wisdom forward today. Speak the truth, speak it kindly, and leave all gossip behind.

Beautifully said. Thank you for joining us on this journey into the wisdom of Sanatana Dharma. Hari Om!
