अस्मिन् वसु वसवो धारयन्त्विन्द्रः पूषा वरुणो मित्रो अग्निः ।
इममादित्या उत विश्वे च देवा उत्तरस्मिन् ज्योतिषि धारयन्तु ॥१॥
'In this person, may the Vasus reside. May Indra, Pusha, Varuna, Mitra, and Agni sustain him. May the Adityas and all the other gods uphold his glory in the highest place.'
अस्य देवाः प्रदिशि ज्योतिरस्तु सूर्यो अग्निरुत वा हिरण्यम् ।
सपत्ना अस्मदधरे भवन्तूत्तमं नाकमधि रोहयेमम् ॥२॥
'May the gods place his glory in all directions - the Sun, Fire, or even gold. May our adversaries be beneath us, and may we ascend to the highest realm.'
येनेन्द्राय समभरः पयांस्युत्तमेन ब्रह्मणा जातवेदः ।
तेन त्वमग्न इह वर्धयेमं सजातानां श्रैष्ठ्य आ धेह्येनम् ॥३॥
'With the supreme knowledge (Mantra) offered to Indra and with the highest prayer, O Jatavedas (Agni), may you increase the prosperity of this one (the person concerned). Bestow upon him supremacy among those born.'
ऐषां यज्ञमुत वर्चो ददेऽहं रायस्पोषमुत चित्तान्यग्ने ।
सपत्ना अस्मदधरे भवन्तूत्तमं नाकमधि रोहयेमम् ॥४॥
'I bestow upon him the results of yajna and glory, O Agni, and also prosperity and intellect. May our adversaries be beneath us, and may we ascend to the highest realm.'
