There are many omens directly connected to the Nava Grahas.
This means the Nava Grahas will show you, through certain indications, the bad karma that is generated.
These are like indications only.
If they are not taken care of at that stage, much bigger problems will follow.
We will start with Surya:
The grains that you have at home — if they turn dry, like desiccated, shrunk.
Cows — if you have cows — suddenly they become weak, without energy.
If the well at home dries up all of a sudden (if it happens during summer every year, it doesn’t matter — but all of a sudden).
If pigeons or crows enter into the house or they fall inside your compound.
In fact, omens connected to crows is a big subject in itself.
Pigeons are considered ambassadors of peace in the West.
But in the Vedas, there are mantras for neutralizing omens connected with pigeons.
If there are two chains that you are wearing around your neck — if they entangle.
If a child is born with teeth.
If a book catches fire all of a sudden.
These are all omens connected with Surya.
In such cases, Surya Shanti may be performed immediately.
If you see any abnormality in plants around your house — suddenly flowers appearing in a different shape and colour in a plant, or two plants growing together, or one plant starts growing on top of another tree — these are all connected to Chandra.
Chandra Bhagawan’s Shanti should be done to propitiate ill effects.
If milk, curd, or ghee turn pink in colour, or reddish spots develop in them.
If everyone at home suddenly becomes ill all together — then it is connected to Mars.
Mangala Shanti should be done.
If all of a sudden you see animals at home running around like mad, climbing on top of the house.
If the man of the house suddenly starts telling lies.
Or an unexpected problem with the authorities comes up.
Or a frog lays eggs or a snake lays eggs in the compound.
Then it is connected to Budha Graha.
Budha Graha should be propitiated in such cases.
If all of a sudden the pillars of the house develop cracks.
If a cat scratches on the ground.
Or if an animal dies all of a sudden, without reason — all these point towards Brihaspati Graha.
In such cases, Brihaspati Shanti should be done.
If a tooth starts appearing above another tooth — in adults.
If suddenly some object that is not yours appears in your house — these are all connected to Shukra Graha.
Shukra Shanti should be done.
If the animals at home suddenly turn aggressive.
If the plants around the house dry up — all of a sudden — even though you are taking care of them — these are connected to Shani Graha.
Shani Shanti may be performed.
There is no wind, but still there is movement in trees and plants around your house.
If cows fight among themselves.
If you happen to see crows, cats, and parrots mating — these are connected to Rahu.
Perform Rahu Shanti.
If crows crow in a threatening sound — then it is connected to Ketu.
Ketu Shanti may be performed.
