Mantra to take refuge in Durga Devi

ॐ ह्रीं दुं दुर्गां देवीं शरणमहं प्रपद्ये

om hreem dum durgaam deveem sharanamaham prapadye

ॐ — The primordial sound. The source of all creation. Invokes the presence of Bhagavan.

ह्रीं — A sacred bija mantra of Devi. It represents divine energy, compassion, and inner transformation.

दुं — The bija of protection. It removes fear, negativity, and obstacles.

दुर्गां देवीं — The Divine Mother Durga. The one who removes difficulties and protects her devotees.

शरणमहं प्रपद्ये — I surrender myself completely at your refuge.

I bow to Durga Devi, the divine mother. With full faith, I surrender myself at her feet. Protect me, guide me, and remove all my difficulties.

Benefits:

1. Reduces fear immediately
The sound ‘दुं’ and ‘ह्रीं’ directly calm the fear response. You feel more stable inside, even in uncertain situations.

2. Builds inner strength
Durga is Shakti. Regular listening slowly makes you less weak, less dependent, more steady in decisions.

3. Protects from negative thoughts
Your mind stops running into anxiety loops, overthinking, and self-doubt. A protective mental layer forms.

4. Improves focus and clarity
The repetition of the mantra aligns your thoughts. Confusion reduces. You think straighter.

5. Emotional balance
Anger, frustration, helplessness — all start settling down. You respond instead of reacting.

6. Creates a sense of support
You stop feeling alone. There is a quiet inner assurance — someone is taking care.

7. Strength during difficult phases
This is where it works best. When life feels heavy, this mantra gives you the strength to handle it without breaking.

8. Spiritual grounding
Even without deep knowledge, it slowly connects you to Devi. A natural bhakti develops.
