How to Make Your Boss Favourable Towards You

How Do You Make Somebody Favourable Towards You?

Like your boss.

If you stick to your own principles, your style, then it never happens.

'This is how I am' is the worst stand that you can take if you want to be successful in life.

I am not talking about the spiritual world. I am talking about the practical, especially the corporate world and politics.

You should know what your boss wants. Give him what he wants, not what you want. I am talking only about those things which are within the boundaries of morality and decency.

If your boss wants appreciation, give him that. If your boss wants help—he may be overloaded with work—volunteer to help him. If he wants to implement something which you know may not be a great idea, but if he is convinced, then you are also convinced. It is his job to take such decisions.

Ah, you can offer your opinion if asked for. If he wants a shoulder to cry on about his personal life, give him that.

Then, are you losing your character, your principles? Maybe that’s a choice you have to make—whether you want the boss to be favourable towards you or keep your self-esteem.

Life is all about choices, and in every choice, you have to pay a price.

Even someone as cruel as a Rakshasa will become favourable towards you if you do two things.

One, you have to agree with him. Do what he wants, not what you think is appropriate. And behave properly with him.

This may not be the best thing to do with your life. But decide what you want. If you want to be a favourite of the boss, this is what you will have to do—999 out of 1000 bosses—because they are human beings.

You can’t expect the boss to be like King Janaka—impartial, detached, righteous. Even among thousands of kings, see how many would stand out like King Janaka?

Praise him if he is angry with you.

You have botched up some work. He is screaming at you. Don’t justify yourself. Don’t give excuses and reasons. Just say sorry.

Admit your blunder and also say, 'Sir, had it been someone else, I would have been out of a job by now.'

Praise him. Touch the sensitive corner of the heart. Every human heart has many such sensitive corners.

Hate everyone whom your boss hates. Love everyone whom your boss loves.

In Mantra Shastra, there is a prayoga called Vasheekarana—mantras used to bring someone under your command and control.

If you know these techniques, then you don’t need mantras to bring your boss under your command.

Those who think that the boss is rude, crude, or very difficult—
It is just that they are unaware of these techniques or are not industrious enough or smart enough to try them out.
