This audio tells you about - 1. How keeping a copy of Bhagavata itself will prevent evil from entering your home 2. How Bhagavata is not for academic purposes.
Veda Vyasa’s father is Parashara and his mother is Satyavati.
Yes. He is the brother of Sri Krishna.
We saw that there are three kinds of listeners of Bhagavata: ordinary, extraordinary, exceptional. We also saw that what are the differences between them. But the same Bhagavata gives results for all these three types. It is not different methods for the three categories. Sadhanas are different for different people depending on the capacity and taste.
For those who are physically strong: yoga.
For those who have the asset of strong emotions: puja.
For the intellectuals: jnana marga, Upanishads.
Different different methods based on aptitude and capacity.
But one Bhagavata is common for all.
For all types of seekers.
And a single common method; listening.
Listening is the fastest route to get Bhagawan into you, into your mind, into your heart, into your body.
Then the question comes up; I listen but I don’t understand much, what about them?
There are such people, what about them?
Do they get any benefit?
शतशोऽथ सहस्रैश्च किमन्यैः शास्त्रसंग्रहैः ।
गृहे न तिष्ठते यस्य शास्त्रं भागवतं कलौ ।।
कथं स वैष्णवो ज्ञेयः।
Bhagavata is meant for Kaliyuga.
Kaliyuga is the period in which the governing power is Kali.
Kali is in charge of Kaliyuga.
What does Kali do?
He will create diseases, unrest, poverty, fights.
In a home even if just a book of Bhagavata is there,
You may not even know that this book is there at home.
It may be in that old trunk box which your grandfather has left behind.
You haven’t even bothered to open that box and checked what is in there.
Even if that is the case; if this book is there in your home, Kali will not dare to enter your home.
That is the power of Bhagavata, which is just a book made up of paper and ink.
You can imagine the power when Bhagavata enters into you through your ears as Shabda-Brahma and settles inside you.
Whatever enters into you gets registered in your memory.
So, when you listen to Bhagavata; you can imagine how much power, immunity, the resistance you are developing against the onslaught of Kali.
Even if you don’t understand; it doesn't matter, just keep on listening.
It will do a lot of good.
Remember that Bhagavata is not just conventional traditional knowledge.
Bhagavata came out of the highest yogic state, it appeared in the samadhi of Sage Vyasa.
That is the power of Bhagavata
Also, remember one thing; Bhagavata is not for showing off your knowledge as a listener.
This is a contradiction: it is said like this in Vishnu Purana, in Mahabharata, in Ramayana.
No, Bhagavata is not for this.
If you want to do that; stay put with whatever you are doing right now.
Don’t get into Bhagavata.
Bhagavata has a single simple straightforward purpose; to get Bhagawan inside you,
No other purpose.
Bhagavata is not for writing critical analysis and obtaining Ph.D.
If that is what you want to do, there are thousands of other books.
This is for simple-minded, earnest devotees who want to attain Bhagawan.
