Part 2 - Summary of Ayodhya Kanda.
Dasharatha starts preparations to make Rama his successor.
Kaikeyi interrupts by invoking two promises given to her by Dasharatha.
She makes her own son Bharata the crown prince.
Rama is sent to the forest for 14 years.
Seetha Devi and Lakshmana accompany Sri Rama.
In deep sorrow, Dasharatha dies.
Bharata refuses to become the king.
He goes to Chitrakoota to convince Rama to return.
Rama says that he will not break his word.
Bharata returns with the padukas of Sri Rama, keeps them on the throne, and rules on his behalf

Part 3 - Summary of Aranya Kanda
Sri Rama goes to Dandakaranya from Chitrakoota.
For the next ten years, he roams around and visits many Rishis.
Sri Rama sets up an ashrama in Panchavati, Nasik and starts living there with Seetha Devi and Lakshmana.
Ravana's sister Surpanakha approaches Rama and asks him to marry her.
When refused, she harasses Seetha Devi.
Lakshmana cuts her nose and ears.
Surpanakha urges Ravana to take revenge.
Maricha becomes a golden deer and with his help Ravana abducts Seetha Devi.
On the way, Jatayu tries to stop Ravana and Ravana kills him.
Sri Rama and Lakshmana go searching for Seetha Devi.

Part 4 - Summary of Kishkinda Kanda
Hanumanji takes Sri Rama and Lakshmana to Rishyamookachala to meet Sugreeva.
A pact is reached between Sri Rama and Sugreeva that he would kill Vali, Sugreeva's brother and help him become the king of Kishkindha.
In return, Sugreeva shall help Sri Rama to find and get back Seetha Devi.
According to this, Hanuman, Jambavan, Angada and an army of monkeys go towards the South.
They meet Sampati, brother of Jatayu.
He tells that Seetha Devi is held captive in the Ashoka Vatika of Lanka by Ravana.
Hanumanji crosses the ocean by sky to reach Lanka.

Part 5 - Summary of Sundara Kanda
Hanumanji meets Ravana's brother, Vibhishna.
Vibhishana is a devotee of Sri Rama.
With the help of Vibhishana, Hanumanji reaches Seetha Devi and presents her Sri Rama's ring
to establish his bonafide.
Hanumanji destroys Ashoka Vatika.
He is captured by Indrajit and taken to Ravana's court.
Ravana orders to punish Hanumanji by setting his tail on fire.
Hanumanji burns down the entire Lanka and returns to Sri Rama.

Part 6 - Summary of Yuddha Kanda
Vibhishana advises his brother not to get into fight with Sri Rama.
He should rather return Seetha Devi and apologize.
When Ravana refuses, Vibhishana leaves Lanka and takes refuge at the feet of Sri Rama.
Sri Rama prepares to attack Lanka.
A bridge is built across the ocean.
Angada goes to Ravana as a messenger of peace.
He advises Ravana to return Seetha Devi and avoid war.
Ravana refuses and the war begins.
Millions of monkeys participate in the war from Sri Rama's side.
At one point, Indrajit makes Lakshmana unconscious.
Hanumanji brings Sanjivani mountain of medicinal herbs to revive him.
Sri Rama kills Kumbhakarna, Lakshmana kills Indrajit, and finally Sri Rama kills Ravana.
Sri Rama appoints Vibhishana as the king of Lanka.
Seetha Devi undergoes Agni pareeksha to prove her purity.
Sri Rama, Seetha Devi, Lakshmana and Hanumanji return to Ayodhya in the Pushpaka Vimana.
Sri Rama's pattabhisheka takes place.

Part 7 - Summary of Uttara Kanda
Hanumanji tears open his chest to show the image of Sri Rama and Seetha Devi in his heart.
In spite of the Agni pareeksha, some subjects still were not convinced about the purity Seetha Devi.
Pregnant Seetha Devi is sent to live in the forest.There she gives birth to Lava and Kusha in the ashrama of Valmiki.
Lava and Kusha capture the horse of Sri Rama's Ashwamedha Yaga.
After everyone else fails, Sri Rama himself arrives.and defeats Lava and Kusha.
Valmiki teaches Lava and Kusha the Ramayana.
They come to Sri Rama's court and sing the Ramayana.
Sri Rama realizes that Lava and Kusha are his own sons.
Seetha Devi's purity is once again challenged by a minister of Sri Rama.
Seetha Devi declares, 'If I am pure, let the earth open up and swallow me.'
The earth opened up and swallowed Seetha Devi.
Sri Rama rules Ayodhya righteously for 10,000 years.
Then he returns to Vaikuntha along with his brothers.
