How to Attract the Right Guru

How to Attract the Right Guru

Finding the right Guru is essential for spiritual growth. A Guru guides you towards wisdom and truth. But attracting the right Guru requires effort from you too. There are three key factors that draw the Guru’s grace towards you.

1. Good Intentions (Shubha Vasana)

The first step is having pure intentions. Your thoughts must be focused on good actions and a desire for spiritual progress. When your heart is pure, you naturally attract the right people, including a Guru, who can guide you. Without pure intentions, your path may become difficult. So, always aim to cleanse your thoughts and actions, aligning them with higher goals.

2. Good Connections (Shubha Yoga)

You must surround yourself with good connections. Being in the company of positive people helps create an environment that nurtures spiritual growth. These connections bring you closer to spiritual opportunities. It’s like planting a seed in fertile soil. Good connections also mean attending places where spirituality is practiced. This may be temples, satsangs, gatherings, or even good social media forums where the divine is celebrated.

3. Firm Resolve (Shubha Agraha)

Once your intentions are pure and your surroundings support you, you must develop strong determination. This means having a firm resolve to follow the spiritual path. A wavering mind cannot progress, and the Guru will be drawn to those who are steady in their faith and commitment. Spiritual growth requires effort and discipline, and only with firm resolve will you reach the Guru’s grace.

How the Guru’s Power Reaches You

When these three factors are present in your life, they manifest as the Guru’s power. This power is not just the physical presence of the Guru but also his/her spiritual influence. It enters your body and mind, helping you grow at a deep level. This happens because you have become ready to receive the Guru’s teachings.

In simple terms, when you create the right conditions within and around you, the Guru will naturally be drawn towards you. So, focus on purity of thought, good connections, and firm resolve to attract the Guru who will guide you on your spiritual journey.

What is the relationship between Devi and Sanskrit alphabets?

The body of Devi is made up of Sanskrit alphabets. When Mahadeva was moving around with Devi's body after she self-immolated, Vishnu cut her body into fifty-one pieces with Sudarshana chakra. The number 51 corresponds to the number of alphabets in Sanskrit. The places where they fell are the Shakti peethas.
