देवं गिरिवंशं गौरीवरपुत्रं
लम्बोदरमेकं सर्वार्चितपत्रम्।
संवन्दितरुद्रं गीर्वाणसुमित्रं
रक्तं वसनं तं वन्दे गजवक्त्रम्।
वीरं हि वरं तं धीरं च दयालुं
सिद्धं सुरवन्द्यं गौरीहरसूनुम्।
स्निग्धं गजमुख्यं शूरं शतभानुं
शून्यं ज्वलमानं वन्दे नु सुरूपम्।
सौम्यं श्रुतिमूलं दिव्यं दृढजालं
शुद्धं बहुहस्तं सर्वं युतशूलम्।
धन्यं जनपालं सम्मोदनशीलं
बालं समकालं वन्दे मणिमालम्।
दूर्वार्चितबिम्बं सिद्धिप्रदमीशं
रम्यं रसनाग्रं गुप्तं गजकर्णम्।
विश्वेश्वरवन्द्यं वेदान्तविदग्धं
तं मोदकहस्तं वन्दे रदहस्तम्।
शृण्वन्नधिकुर्वन् लोकः प्रिययुक्तो
ध्यायन् च गणेशं भक्त्या हृदयेन।
प्राप्नोति च सर्वं स्वं मानमतुल्यं
दिव्यं च शरीरं राज्यं च सुभिक्षम्।

What does Ganesha mean?
In Sanskrit, Gana (गणः) means group and Isha (ईशः) means the Lord. Ganesha means the Lord of groups. In Vedic philosophy, everything exists in groups.
