Today in Vishnu Sahasranama, we are going to see the meaning of рд╕рд░реНрд╡рд╡рд┐рддреН рднрд╛рдиреБрдГ.
And also why an old woman wanted to kill Arjuna and Draupadi.
рд╕рд░реНрд╡рд╡рд┐рддреН рднрд╛рдиреБрдГ is considered as a single name or as two separate names.

Bhagavan has got four aspects: Sankarshana, Vasudeva, Pradyumna , and Aniruddha.
This is called Chaturvyuha.
Sankarshana is the God of elimination, same as Rudra.
After the universe is eliminated, dissolved when the time to create again comes, it is done by Pradyumna.
Pradyumna is the same as Brahma.
There is so much in the universe, an abundance of forms, plants, animals, rivers, mountains, birds, objects, it is so abundant.
Whom do they all belong to?
They all belong to Bhagavan, they are his assets, he himself manifests through them.
They are all with him after pralaya.
He makes them reappear at the time of the next creation, as Pradyumna.
That is yet another reason why he is called рд╕рд░реНрд╡рд╡рд┐рддреН because he has everything with him.
There are two more meanings:
рд╕рд░реНрд╡рддреНрд░ рд╡рд┐рджреНрдпрддреЗ рдЗрддрд┐ рд╕рд░реНрд╡рд╡рд┐рддреН - He is everywhere.
рд╕рд░реНрд╡рдВ рд╡реЗрджрдпрддрд┐ рдЗрддрд┐ рд╕рд░реНрд╡рд╡рд┐рддреН - He only teaches us everything.
He is Jagadguru, the teacher of the universe.

What is the meaning of Bhanu?
Bhanu in the ordinary sense means the Sun, Surya Bhagavan.
He is Surya Narayana.
So Bhagavan is also Surya.
Why is Surya called Bhanu?
What is the meaning of Bhanu?
рднрд╛рддреАрддрд┐ рднрд╛рдиреБрдГ - that which shines is Bhanu.
What happens if the Sun is gone.
It will be total darkness, not even moonlight will be there.
You may think that electric light will be there.
No.
If the Sun is not there, there will be no life on earth.
Who will produce electricity?
Even shiny objects like diamonds don't produce light of their own.
They just reflect light.
So the primary source of all light is Surya, Bhanu.
рддрдореЗрд╡ рднрд╛рдиреНрддрдордиреБрднрд╛рддрд┐ рд╕рд░реНрд╡рдореН - rest everything they just reflect Surya's light.
But then the question comes: where does Surya get light from?
рдпрджрд╛рджрд┐рддреНрдпрдЧрддрдВ рддреЗрдЬреЛ рдЬрдЧрджреНрднрд╛рд╕рдпрддреЗрд╜рдЦрд┐рд▓рдореН - Surya doesn't have light of his own.
It is because Bhagavan is sitting in Surya Mandala that Surya gives light.
It is not Surya's light.
It is Bhagavan's light.
It is not Surya's light.
It is Surya Narayana's light.
There is not even a separate entity called Surya.
Bhanu, Surya is Bhagavan himself.
There is one more meaning of Bhanu:
рд╕рд░реНрд╡рдирд┐рд░реНрдорд╛рдгреЗрд╜рдкрд┐ рдЕрд╡рд┐рдХреБрд░реНрд╡рд╛рдгреЛ рднрд╛рддрд┐ рдЗрддрд┐ рднрд╛рдиреБрдГ
He changes everything.
We know that.
Life evolves.
The world around you keeps on changing.
While he changes everything that he has created, there is absolutely no change in him.
He never changes.

This is after the battle of Kurukshetra.
Draupadi and Arjuna were going through a forest.
It was a very hot afternoon.
Draupadi became tired and thirsty.
She sat down under a tree.
Arjuna climbed on top of a tree and looked around.
I can see a hut a little away.
We should get water there.
Draupadi limped along and they both reached the hut.
An old woman opened the door and welcomed them inside.
She didn't even ask them who they were.
She saw that they were tired.
The old woman said: have these fruits.
In the meantime, I will get you some cool water to drink.
The woman went out to get water.
Arjuna and Draupadi saw a sword hanging on the wall of the hut.
They were surprised.
What is a sword doing in an old woman's hut?
Arjuna said: it must be to protect herself from wild animals.
But then if she is scared of wild animals, what is she doing alone in the forest?
The woman came back with water.
They both drank water and finished eating the fruits.
They expressed their gratitude to her and then asked:
mother, why are you keeping that sword?
Is it for animals?
Oh! That sword?
No, no, not for animals.
No animal would harm me.
That is to kill Draupadi and Arjuna if I ever come across them.
Then only the pain in my heart would go.

Why? What harm has Draupadi done to you?
Does she even know you?
She may not know me.
But I know her.
The most arrogant, selfish woman in the whole world.
Once she tied a piece of cloth on the bleeding finger of Krishna, what does she think of herself?
She can call him whenever she wants?
For whatever silly reason?
Dusshasana was pulling at her clothes and she called out to Krishna.
Of all the people in the world, Krishna!
What does she think of herself?
And my poor Lord, he came all the way from Dwaraka.
Leaving his food midway.
She knew he would do that.
But look at her audacity.
She thinks the Lord of the universe is at her beck and call.

What wrong has Arjuna done?
That brat?
Devas stand in a line to get a glance of the tip of his toes.
For days together they stand in a line.
And this arrogant boy, he is so arrogant, that Arjuna, he made Bhagavan his charioteer.
What does he think of himself?
Let them come in front of me.
I will finish them both with this sword.
Heads of Draupadi and Arjuna hung down in shame.
They stood up and walked out of the hut silently
