Jambavan – The Immortal Bear

Jambavan, also known as Jambavanta, is a character who appears in both the Ramayana and Mahabharata. He is a wise and strong bear who was created by Brahma to assist Rama in his quest to rescue Sita. Jambavan is also known for his immense longevity, participating in events across different Yugas (ages).

Where did snakes get their venom from?

According to Srimad Bhagavatam, as Lord Shiva was drinking the poison Halahala which emerged during the churning of the ocean, a little bit spilled from his hand. This became the venom in snakes and other creatures and also poisonous plants.
